He has participated in major touring productions – with opera Lakme on Cyprus, the Paphos Aphrodite Festival, Osaka Festival Hall, Osaka, Aichi Prefectural Art Theater Nagoya and Tokyo Bunka Kaikan; with ballet Architecture of Silence in Esplanada Theatre on Singapore Arts Festival; with the Opera the Nymphs of the Rhine in St. Poelten Austria, Winterthur, Switzerland, Bolzano, Italy) and others...


In 2004 he was awarded one of the most important awards in the field of theatre in Slovenia - 39th Borštnik Award for the lighting design in the theatre performance “In Search of Lost Time” directed by Dušan Jovanovič.


He works in the lighting design professional since 1994, and in 2006 started his career as an independent cultural worker in the field of lighting design. For many years he was a Head of Stage Lighting in Cankarjev Dom and was among others responsible also for the author projects, halls lighting equipment. 


He was a member of the Task Force for the development of professional standards for National Vocational Qualifications Republic of Slovenia –professional lighting designer and illuminator occupation.

Today he focuses mainly on authorial projects in the performing arts, counselling, education and implementation of other stage events.

Andrei Hajdinjak participated as light designer in more than 200 plays, dance, ballet, opera, concert and commercial productions at home and abroad, and has signed under many recognised projects with established local and foreign artists, among others - the Opera the Nymphs of the Rhine and Julie directed by Manfred Schweigkoflerja; opera Tosca, directed by G. H. Seebach; opera Lakmé, Les contes dHoffmann  and Prince Igor directed by Plamen Kartaloff; ballets Architecture of Silence, Radio and Juliet and Pret A Porte choreographed by Edward Clug; opera Carmen directed by Charles Roubaud; opera, Don Quixote directed by Thomas Schulte Michelsa; opera Faust directed by Alessia Pizzech; an exhibition of Alan Hranitelj - Autumn Winter; opera Three Oranges directed by Vito Taufer; a ballet Vojček choreographed by Staša Zurovaca, tragedy Medea directed by Tomaž Pandur; as well as many celebrations of National Days of Republic of Slovenia; National Prešeren Awards and numerous other projects.


He has cooperated with many cultural institutions such as the National Opera and Ballet Sofia, Theatro Comunale Bolzano, National Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, SNG Opera and Ballet Maribor, Ljubljana City Theatre, Slovenian Youth Theatre, Yugoslavian Drama Theatre (ADP), Dance Theatre of Ljubljana, Croatian National Theatre (HNK)  Zagreb and Rijeka, Slovenian National Theatre Celje, Koreodrama, Betontanc and others.
